Karnali the wildest of west( ( 9Nights/10 Days)

Karnali River is one of the finest big volume rafting and kayaking trips in Nepal-spectacular, remote, jungle-clad canyons, Big white and abundant wildlife. The Karnali is Nepal's longest and largest river and with its tributaries it drains most of the far west of Nepal-the 'wild west' as many people call it, rising in the vicinity of Tibet's holy Mount Kailash and glacier of Kanziroba Himal, other small peaks, as well as Rara lake rapid encountered on this river is 1 to 5 class. This bottom section of the river definitely lives up to that name-the area that it flows through is wild and relatively unpopulated with some of the most pristine jungle scenery in Nepal abundant wildlife.

From the frontier town of Surkhet there is an unique and lovely two-day trek through lowland Sal forest to the village of Saul in the seldom seen area of far West Nepal. From Sauli it's 180 km to the nest road access at Chisopani, on the northern border of the Royal Bardia National Park. The river section takes about seven days, giving plenty of time to explore some of the side canyons and waterfalls, which comes in to the river valley. For 180 kilometers we won't see a single sign of the modern world. It's one of the last places in Nepal that you can see old growth forest and have a real chance of seeing Nepal's wildlife.

Karnali CampingThe rapids are also pretty wild, with the river building to its climax in these lower canyons shortly after the sharp bend in the river 'the elbow' by the Lohore Khola, the valley narrows into a series of canyons, the river speeds up, and there are big rapids, one leading into another, almost continuously down to the Seti river from the 'Elbow' down to the Seti the gradient is 3m/km (15ft a mile), but after here, the gradient eases, as the river winds through some magnificent un-spoilt scenery, eventually emerging onto the plains and flowing through the Royal Bardia National Park to join the Ganges. Finally leaving you close to Bardia National Park, where you can combine your rafting adventure with a safari trip and maybe spot some of the parks one-horned rhinos and elusive tigers or you can either drive back or fly back to Kathmandu.

Go on this trip if you want a true expedition style adventure and a totally classic river journey.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 4 : This is the type of day that people imagine when they think of Himalayan water. It is big and continuous. We enter into the Jungle Corridor. This is a narrowing jungle clad gorge and it is all ours. The team building is put into full practice and when your guide shouts "all forward " he really means it. Enjoy the ride all day and camp in this sensational setting at God-house.

Kali Gandaki the river of Saligram( Two Nights/Three Days)

A deservedly popular and medium length of river trip is combining exhilarating white water with fine scenery. One of the famous names of Himalayan Rivers, The Kali Gandaki raises in Mustang an enclave of Nepal Poking into Tibet on the other side of the Himalayas here; it is a flat and braided river, flowing in an arid open valley. As it tumbles down between the majestic Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna ranges, it creates one of the world's deepest gorges. The explorer Michael Peissel ran this stretch of the river in a small hovercraft in 1973 and at least two other groups have rafted and kayaked in this section.

Kaligandaki CampingAll day you have to continuous keeping paddlers busy against all technical rapids on the Kali Gandaki River. Both experienced and novice rafters love this. Nowhere else is it possible to find such diversity on a 3 day raft trip. Nice drops, sparkling chutes and turbulent rapids provide class III to IV+ runs during the fall and spring seasons.

After your exhilarating white water trip you have options either to drive or fly back to Kathmandu or to visit the Royal Chitwan National Park or again you can go for the trekking trip in the popular area of Annapurna region for few days.

Trip itinerary

Day 1: Pokhara to rafting put-in point Nayapul 70 km. for 4 hours drive from Pokhara and then evening at the camp of Modi Khola. At around 7 am, we drive to the put-in point. Upon arrival, we unload all the equipment and you will receive a full safety briefing. Have lunch and then the guide will take you to the river starting point ready to begin your exciting 3 days rafting trip. First day we begin with plenty of class III rapids this is a warm up for the team, after couple of hours you will be encountering 2 big class 4 rapids i.e. 'Small Brother' and 'Big Brother'. Your guide will be making you work hard at doing exercises to work as a team maneuvering the raft efficiently. After scouting the rapid, the safety kayaks will go first then the raft. Soon after encountering these two big rapids we will reach the Modi Khola confluence where we will choose the beach for the evening campsite. We unload the rafts and one raft team prepares dinner whilst the others play volleyball or relax and take in the scenery.

Day 2: Camp site Modi Khola to second day camp site below the village of Purti Ghat.
Once the rafts are packed we start down the river for a day mixed with adrenaline, calm and spectacular scenery including views of Annapurna I and Himchuli. We will tackle many class III sections and the challenging class IV named REFUND. This section of river is abundant with vines and lush vegetation hanging from the cliff faces. Our campsite is below the village of Purti Ghat.

Day 3: Purti Ghat to Mirme
Almost immediately after being back on the water we reach the holy village of Seti Beni. The river has deposited a house size boulder in the confluence with a smaller tributary. Since confluences are considered holy places in the Hindu religion, this boulder has become an important shrine to the local river people. There is usually a great audience to watch and listen to the spectacle as each team negotiates the rapid that has formed around this holy place. After the shirt-rafting trip it is time for the journey to end. You arrive in the Mirme where your bus will be waiting for you. We load up the gear and prepare for the bus journey back to Pokhara 105 km. for 5 hours driving.

Seti River of White Beauty( One Night/Two Days)

Rafting in Seti River, You can have a fairly short trip in the Seti River and offers beautiful mountain views and also unique river passing through two beautiful and contrasting scenic areas of Manaslu and Annapurna regions. This River has relatively small volume but blue and warm water and we recommend this as an ideal short trip for first time rafters or as "Warm-up" for intermediate kayakers. Seti is Best River for learning kayak in Nepal as she has very best character for this. The water temperature is incredibly warm, making it a popular choice for winter trips and also for kayak clinics for the course of beginners, diploma and advanced as well. After your exhilarating white water trip you have options either to drive or fly back to Kathmandu or to visit the Royal Chitwan National Park or again you can go for the trekking trip in the popular area of Annapurna region for few days.

Most of the year, the Seti is famous for its dazzling scenery is a gentle river, attracting families, bird watchers, nature lovers and dreamers. However, during the monsoon, its swollen rapids prove an exciting test for experienced rafters and kayakers.

The luxuriant vegetation visible along the river is a remnant of the vast forested area, which once covered the middle hills of Nepal. This area is inhabited by Magar who are renowned for generations of service with the Gurkha forces. Saranghat is a colorful middle hill village where you will have first night's camp on a spacious beach below the village.

After you complete the rafting adventure trip, you get a choice between coming back to Kathmandu or continuing journey to visit the Royal Chitwan National Park or to Pokhara

Marsyandi Bagyo Salala( 4 Nights/5 Days)

Locally, it is used to say that Marshyangdi is the raging river in Nepal and describes one of the best whitewater runs in the world. One of the best class 4 kayaking rivers in the world-continuous, exhilarating whitewater with magnificent mountain backdrops. Recommended for expert kaykers and rafters.

If it's adventure you seek, you'll find it on this trip with one day of easy trekking and five days of intense rafting. Only recently opened for commercial rafting (many rapids have not been named yet), the Marshyangdi is one of the next generations of rivers in Nepal, steeper and with a much more continuous stretch of rapids.

The scenery is magnificent with every bend of the river opening up fresh vistas of some of the world's highest mountains, but these are behind-as someone said "great views but you need rear view mirrors"

Trip itinerary

Day 1: Drive 8 hours to Besisahar from Kathmandu and then to Khudi to set up Camp After reaching Besisahar we unload the gear and one of our staff will show up with a porter who will carry all the expedition gear to our camp at Khudi. We arrive at Khudi in time to set up camp, relax and find the best spot to take in the magnificence of the surrounding Himalayas at sunset

Day 2: Trek start from Khudi to Ngadi then back to Ngadi by raft for your night camp After breakfast, we start trekking for a couple of hours to our put in point Ngadi. Lunch will be served, rafts are pumped, gear handed out after and your expedition leader will brief you and train you on land about safety and paddling. Pay attention as you are straight into the rapids and this river has a way of underlining any mistakes! This is the most knuckle gripping section of the river so enjoy it. We encounter rapids as Instant Karma, Twinkie, Adrenaline, and Mama's Big Butt by Bhulbhule. We finish today back at Khudi and have a well-earned dinner.

Day 3: Start adventure-rafting trip from Khudi and raft up to the sandy beach below Besisahar From today you have to be prepared to continuous bumping into the challenging rapids and it doesn't stop after the 1st day. The crystal blue water thunders down steep as waterfall for mile after mile, with lush jungle clinging insecurely to the canyon walls and surreal mountains suspended high above the forested ridges. You have to run on these rapids and tackle the intense whitewater rafting for the next 5 hours. Lunch will be provided on the way and then continue descent to the camping site in the sandy beach. The white sandy beaches below Bensisahar make for the most comfortable nightspot around

Day 4: As done before and camp in Bhotewodar After breakfast we hit directly into whitewater again. At Phaliya Sanghu the whole river is squeezed between vertical walls, which rise 200 ft to a suspension bridge across the river. For a short section after Phaliya Sanghu the river relaxes, the rapids are more open and nowhere as powerful. We end the day at Bhotewodar, where we camp on the banks in the cave of a Shiva temple.

Day 5: Bhotewodar to The river becomes very mellow and goes through a high walled gorge with birds and vegetation that can only be described as breath taking. We reach our take out point at Bimal Nagar by lunchtime where our transport is waiting to take us back to Pokhara or Chitwan or Kathmandu
